Special Events Beating the Bounds Walk

Join our regular walkers for an old tradition of Beating the Bounds. This dates back from Anglo Saxon times , when there were no maps, and chiefs had to stake a claim on land.

The boundary of Alderley Village is defined by a stream, and the walk is picturesque, taking you up over the edge, and then down around the fields, giving you different views of the village. Its approximately 7miles, suitable for children, there are a few stiles, so prams and wheelchairs might encounter few problems. However there are a few alternatives and short cuts and at any time you are never far from the village centre. We will have marshalls at road crossings.

Please contact Simon Caporn 01625 584694 or 07949 208983 for more details.

Maps and details will be available at the church from 1.30pm onwards and there will be Easrer cakes and refreshments on your return in the Church. Approx time 2/3hrs.
