Food for All

Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted. When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, ‘Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.’ So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets. John 6: 11-13

What is Food for All?

Food for all is a project run from our church in Alderley Edge. Its very simple aim is to distribute food to people living in our local area who would otherwise be going hungry.

People don’t have enough food.

It’s astonishing isn’t it? The people we give food to include people who have had benefit payments delayed, people who have set up businesses which are not going very well at the moment and even people in paid employment who are struggling to cover their bills.

This is what we are doing about it.

 1. We accept donations of non-perishable food, some of which we pass onto the Hope Central charity.

2. We distribute hampers of food to people who are referred to us from Social Services, Housing Associations, Citizens Advice, often via Hope Central.

3. We collect surplus perishable food from shops in Alderley Edge to be distributed to people in need either directly or via our network of partner organisations.
