ALDERLEY EDGE BIBLE STUDIES 2021-2022
Our first meeting will be on Monday evening October 4th at 7.30 pm in the West End of St Philip & St James Church. We're beginning the new session by meeting in person (though we might decide later on to go back to Zoom when the nights get colder!).
This year's programme will follow the book HOLY HABITS by Andrew Roberts (Malcolm Down 2016). We'll have some copies available on Monday night if you want to buy your own. It's a snip at £8.38p (payable to Maxine Drabble please: you can email Maxine at maxinedrabble@icloud.com to get the account details). But I'll also be writing my own notes for each study as we go through the year — and you can find more resources on the HOLY HABITS website at https://www.holyhabits.org.uk (run by the Bible Reading Fellowship).
HOLY HABITS is a fresh and challenging way of exploring the adventure of discipleship (not a clothing catalogue for nuns!). It's based on what the book of Acts tells us about the habits of the first Christians (Acts 2.42-47). The book challenges us to think imaginatively and practically about how we can apply those principles to our own lives as disciples and the life of our church. I enjoyed it when I first read it, and I think you will too. I'm looking forward to exploring HOLY HABITS together — starting with a general introduction on Monday.
Looking forward to seeing you! And if you know anyone else who would like to get these emails direct, please pass their email to me (with their consent) or ask them to email me on Loveday.alexander@btinternet.com.
